Waking up this morning in my 10ft square sweat box I had no idea what time it was. Plane travel and waiting in airports etc. takes it out of you a bit and I slept very well considering my room is next to a busy bar on Khao San Rd.

I tell you this place is nuts! Saw a guy selling insects last night in the alley that leads to my place. On the street, food vendors were out in force and I can tell it's going to be an eating fest for the next 2 weeks.

This morning I went to a streetside place for the old eggs, bacon, tomato, toast thing. It was very good and cost about $2.50.

There's a ton of clothing vendors here and assorted stalls and shops selling jewelry and accessories.

Hotter here than Bali and cloudy. Sitting in cafe now talking with English tourists. No one has handed me a map to a secret island yet but who knows the day isn't over yet.
