I know that a Bangkok Haircut might seem like a euphemism for something else and it might very well be but before Chris left for Australia he and Sean wanted to get one.

On the street where we are staying Soi 4, there are a few places offering beauty type treatments and haircuts.

We showed up one afternoon to a place that has assorted staff sitting around waiting for customers. They asked if we wanted a massage ( foot, body etc. ) and we said that we just wanted a trim.

I got the camera out and documented the process which started with a shampoo in the backroom. Here in Asia they really give the scalp a good scratching which actually feels pleasant.

Chris went first and after his shampoo got situated in the chair ready for cutting. The lady seemed very concentrated and went about her work with electric shears and scissors. Sean and I lounged on recliners and drank tea. The ladies were playing some sort of game and the massage lady hung around in case one of us wanted her service.

After a while Chris started to look like an Aussie soap opera star and the ladies said � very handsome�.

Sean went next and told the lady he didn�t want the �short back and sides� look that Chris and I have. It can be a leap of faith in some ways letting a person chop away at your hair when perhaps they don�t understand exactly what you want. Sean�s turned out fine and if I stayed in that recliner any longer I�d probably fall asleep.

Both haircuts cost 300 baht each which isn�t bargain basement but was a good service.
